woody no. 10
-statement-
Our work is intuitive and natural. The surface of our wood soda fired work is a direct reflection of the atmospheric firing process. The flames speak for themselves, as they decorate each vessel with beautiful unpredictable nuances. We think of our work as a way to celebrate the unsung heroes of nature's landscapes. By carefully selecting dark iron rich clay bodies and through the application of clay slips and shino glazes the fired results are reminiscent of outcrops, escarpments and road cuts. We find tranquility in the rustic.
